Evolutionary is a WordPress theme designed for WordPress 2.8+. It is available for purchase on ThemeForest.net. This theme has a widget-ready sidebar and footer. It is coded in XHTML 1.0 Strict. Evolutionary uses the jQuery library for animations in the featured posts, navigation, and sidebar.

This page uses the “alt_title” custom field to change the heading on the page.

Featured Posts

The Featured Posts section on the homepage is controlled completely through WordPress categories and custom fields. There are no plugins required. Documentation included with this theme outlines step by step how to add a post to your featured section.

Who’s Talking? Widget

This widget displays both recent comments and popular posts in your sidebar. It is built in to Evolutionary, so no additional plugins are required. You can customize the title, how many comments to display, and whether to display Recent Comments or Popular Posts first.

Color Schemes

Evolutionary comes in 4 color schemes: Blue (default), Green, Red, and Black (inverse). You can quickly switch color to color in the administration panel.

Options Panel

Administrators have access to an options panel. Available options include: Display Featured Posts on multiple posts pages, rotation speed of featured posts, pause featured posts on mouseover, copyright name, and color scheme.

PSD Files

A layered, and properly grouped and named PSD file is included with the purchase of this theme. Also included is a header PSD to assist in making your logo if needed.
